The Ezzy Hookipa Mast

Our Hookipa skinny masts contain 91% pre-preg carbon fiber. Pre-preg is the key to achieving
a superior weight-to-strength ratio.
The fibers are pre-saturated to an exact resin-to-fiber ratio, then hand-wrapped
around a mandrel, and then thermally cured.
The Ezzy Skinny Mast gets its superior strength from the 50% extra thickness of
its walls.
The small diameter makes the Ezzy Skinny a dream to sail. You'll notice the improved
handling right away in your jibes.
Ezzy tops and bottoms are interchangeable and sold individually. You can buy the
perfect combination for your sail quiver. That means fewer masts. The general
rule when mixing tops and bottoms is: choose a shorter bottom with a longer top.
Talk to your local dealer about a skinny dedicated mast extension, or conversion
parts to convert your existing mast extension to work with skinny masts.
The Ezzy Sails are widely tested on standard and reduced diameter masts, and work
perfectly well, but if you are looking for the perfect blend of performance and
durability for Wave, Bump and Jump or even Slalom conditions, the RDM mast system
is is the way to go. The Ezzy Skinny masts work FANTASTIC on the entire Ezzy Sail Lineup!

Is the new 60% carbon mast interchangeable with the Hookipa 91% mast?

Yes.
Does the new 60% mast work well in ALL Ezzy Sails, past and present?

Yes.
Is the bend curve and stiffness of the 60% mast the same as the 91% mast.

Yes.
Is the new 60% mast softer than the 91% mast?

No, same as the 91%.
Is the new 60% mast as strong as the 91% mast?

Yes.
What kind of feeling does the 60% have compared with to the 91%?

The 60% feels pretty good. I only notice the difference when I go back on the 91%, which still feels better to me because it is lighter.
Will you stop producing the 91% masts in the future?

No. We will continue with both the 60% and the 91% masts.

Ezzy mast bend curves are constant curve with these values:

- ¼ point: 62%
- ¾ point: 77%

Note: this is not carbon content. This is the percentage bend relative to the midpoint bend.

Ezzy Masts Fit Most Sails
Ezzy masts work in all sails that require a constant curve bend.

For Sails That Require a Hard Top Bend Mast
Customers using sail brands that require a hard top bend have found success combining our top with a bottom that is two sizes smaller. For example combining a 460 top and a 400 bottom produces a 430 cm hard top mast.

First, pick the top and bottom that fits the sail you use the most.
